During my stay in Ghent last month, I had the opportunity to conduct some textile experiments on the TC2 semi-automatic loom at the @industriemuseumgent. It was such a pleasure to experiment with this machine!
I tried out different weaving structures and thread combinations. Some of my tests worked out really well, while others required more trial and error. Overall, I learnt a lot! The samples produced will be documented and will inform the continuation of my research.

Over the past year, I have been researching structural colour and weaving techniques, exploring a new design language in which natural fibre properties and complex patterns reveal colour variation through light, texture and structure rather than pigment.

My project, ‘A Change in the Frequency’, exploring visual interference in weaving, is exhibited at the Biennale Objet Textile at @lamanuf from 14 February to 26 April.
